Mike Spink joined Plexus Ventures in 2007 bringing more than 30 years of technical and managerial experience in the pharmaceutical industry.  Mike is Plexus Ventures’ manufacturing expert.

Mike Spink retired from Eli Lilly and Company in 2006 where he had been Executive Director for Regional Manufacturing and Legacy Products. His responsibilities spanned Lilly manufacturing facilities in Brazil, China, Egypt, Japan, and Mexico, and over 30 contract manufacturing relationships in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the USA. He was also responsible for the development and implementation of the Lilly global strategy governing a profile of 89 Legacy (or late life cycle) products. Prior to this he had held a number of leadership positions in Manufacturing and Product Development and developed a wide range of knowledge and understanding of manufacturing operations, product development and technology transfers and is recognized for his ability to operate in different cultures and interact with a wide range of internal and external customers.

Dr. Spink holds a Bachelor’s degree in agricultural botany from Leeds University as well as a Ph.D. in fungal metabolism from Liverpool Polytechnic.
